Artists give to the world through their ability to process complex feelings and express them into existence- often at great cost to the creative. In show business, artists are pushed for their creative contributions until they explode. Conversely, we believe artists exposed to stability (job security, healthcare, 401 K) and healthy life practices (work-life balance, good mental health) will lead to their best work.

Nitroglycerin Media creates people-first productions. We have two branches: Sketchbook Films (education-focused, working with aspiring creatives regardless of age/experience/background) and Nitroglycerin Media Productions (larger, more ambitious projects).

Ultimately, the goal for Nitroglycerin Media is to employ all the talented people we know and provide a stable, safe working environment. We believe in a symbiotic relationship between artists and the business. We are creating company culture that puts people before profit. We strive for Nitroglycerin Media to help creatives gain experience, strengthen portfolios, and most importantly, land the next gig.

it’s about community

Nitroglycerin Media began out of necessity.

November 13, 2024.

The seed of Nitroglycerin was planted at a small gathering inside a dingy Burbank apartment.

“Pizza & Panic”

Two people showed.

This was preceded by milestone after milestone of hardship. COVID absorbed all jobs within its endless grasp. Once that receded with much-needed pandemic relief, the fight for our rights within the industry led to strikes. While necessary, again, Hollywood jobs would be out of reach for thousands of newcomers looking to make a career.

Years of job instability in the industry was followed by a colossal event: the re-election of Donald Trump. I was distraught, fearing for the safety of my community — my own neighbors.

This, combined with the mass exodus of production exiting Los Angeles in recent years, made me more disheartened than ever.

It was this pizza party, no matter how small, that made me realize the most important thing: my friends, some of the most talented people I’ve ever met, were all working jobs they hated. The opportunities that I wanted us to have would need to be CREATED.

An epiphany sparked.

Nitroglycerin.

  • Nitroglycerin can destroy lives or save them — used in both dynamite and heart medication. When stressed, the liquid erupts in a dramatic explosion; when stabilized in sunlight, it neutralizes. The yin-yang quality of the property resonated with Vee and the “Pizza & Panic” collective. The name just made sense. Nitroglycerin Media LLC. was incorporated in September 2025.

  • In 2026 we aim to expand our network through hosting community events, create three incredible short films, and incorporate educational seminars into the Sketchbook Films program. The Sketchbook Films program intends to release a micro-short bi-monthly.

    We are thrilled to start the year filming “Unidos ’26" in January, followed by “Melt” in May. We are currently working on a third short film to develop in October.

  • Currently Nitroglycerin Media is self-funded by Vee’s part-time work. We are actively looking for a Coppola to adopt us (Vee is Italian!) but until then contact Vee for any and all house-sitting, dog walking or photo editing needs.
